One of the things I have always loved looking at, was other people's before and after shoots. Sometimes you would be amazed at how different the before and afters really can look.
It also allows you to really see just how much work some photographers put into their work. Even small little things can totally change a picture.
So, I thought I would share some of my before and after shots so you can see where I like to take my pictures. I am the kind of person who enjoys edited pictures I guess you could say. But without seeing my originals, you probably wouldn't notice much.
Hope you enjoy!
When I first looked at this picture I really thought it was a garbage shot. Her face in the original was so under exposed since she slid into the shade with the sun behind her. But, to my surprise I managed to save it and it turned out to be one of my favorites :)
This one isn't anything special. All I really did was just lighten it a bit. I wanted to see more details and wanted them a bit brighter.
This is just a quick example of how a bit of cleaning up to her face makes the picture so much better. That mark on her forehead I honestly don't know where it came from. But it has been there for what seems to be forever. I even sometimes forget to get rid of it because I have become so used to it I don't even notice it anymore lol.
Now this picture is a perfect picture to demonstrate why photographers need to learn how to edit pictures. Sometimes things happen, whether it's a piece of hair that gets in your clients face, or in my case, a stubborn thread. Leaving that thread in the picture would of made your eye go right to the thread and not on her head piece. Editing that little piece of thread now makes you focus on the actual head piece and not an annoying thread all over the place. (For the record, the after picture isn't fully done. It does take a long time to take a piece of thread away from textured flowers like these. So stay tuned to see the finish result soon :))
These last two pictures are just to show you how a bit of editing can give your picture a bit more personality. It's amazing how just a bit of punch or a certain style to your picture can give it a totally different feel.
The last one I decided to have a bit of fun with as you can tell :). In the original you can see all my daughter's lovely booboo's all over her face. Plus the little tired baggies under her eyes from being up late the night before. But the edited one her face is clean and you can see what I did to her picture to give it a little spark!
Hope you enjoy these!
