Days 9, 10, 11 and 12!

It has been such a crazy week, I apologize that I am just finally getting my posts up!.

Besides my crazy week, things have been pretty normal around here.  I'm still sick but feeling so much better than I did last week.

We also had a friend's wedding last weekend.  No, I did take any pictures.  I don't do Weddings.  To me it was never something I ever wanted to do.  And not something I probably ever will do (except for maybe the odd really really close friend :).

I didn't even get a picture of me and the hubby all dressed up.  I really wanted a picture of us since surprisingly we don't have many pictures of the two of us.  That would be totally my fault.  I hate being in front of camera's lol.  So getting me to co-operate and smile nicely for a picture can be very very tricky ;)



Now, for the record we have a cat named Jenny.  Jenny HATES kids and normally runs and hides all day until the kids go to bed and then she's all over us!  I sometimes feel bad for her because she hides all day, but then again......she's doing it to herself.  Both kids love her and want nothing more than to get some cuddles from her.  But she normally doesn't allow that. 

I guess she has been feeling a bit lonely lately because she is actually allowing the kids to pet her!  This made Alexis's day when she finally got to touch Jenny.  But Jenny is smart and made sure that all Alexis could do was pet her head.  She was on the stairs and poor Alexis was trying her hardest to get her.  She did and was overly ecstatic!



This was a cute day.  Daddy was on his way out to go grab some things from the store.  He was going to bring Alexis but she had to go for her nap so she stayed behind.  She saw Daddy with his earphones and wondered what they were.

So we told her to put them in her ears (and she did) and Daddy turned on his music.  She started to dance, was so precious!

Day 11 I caught Daddy playing with the kids toys and having a blast.  I love that just like the kids, the tongue is out while he concentrates hehe! 

This is another new moment in our house.  Jenny is starting to really allow Xander to be around her.  Again, this is HUGE.  Especially to Xander.  He calls her his cat now :)

Hockley Forest

It's sad to say that Summer is now really officially over!  Our weather this September has been awfully cold.  

Normally our Falls are nice and cool, still warm enough that you want to spend all day outside.  But this year, not so much.  Im afraid that is telling us that we are in for a very cold winter BOOOOO!

But luckily we managed to get out the other weekend and was shocked at how beautiful the day turned out to be!

We headed off to a place near us called Hockley Village.  My hubby grew up there and took us back into a forest he used to play in alot as a child.

Xander had made a new friend that day, so he was back with my hubbies parents and his new friend while we took Alexis for a little photo shoot.

I love this one too.  She posed herself.  So precious!

This picture makes me laugh.  We were venturing in the forest when she would normally be having her nap.  By the end, she had had enough and it was starting to show. lol.

We get this face a lot when she's tired.  She's yelling either something, or just yelling because she was tired lol.

More Filter Mania fun combined with WowFX

This isn't really a photography post, it's more of a fun post today :)  I hope you enjoy!

Awhile ago I did a post about an App I totally fell in love with.  I found it when I had to endure a lovely 6 hour car ride and needed something to do.

I never ever thought I would find an App that would not only keep me busy, but I found it to be so relaxing.

It's something I do just for fun, just to keep my creativity up I guess you could say.  And I love to see what I can come up with.

But what is even better, is that Filter Mania has released a new App called WowFX.  I was a little disappointed in the second App only because I expected it to have a heck of alot more options then it gave us.   But nevertheless, it is so fun to play around with.

If you have a iphone, you should go check out Filter Mania.  It is a free App and this is just some of the really cool things I have done with it.

This first one is a before and after.  Pretty cool that I got the picture on the right from just a single picture of clouds.  This is why I have soooo much fun with it lol.

The next are a series of the steps I sometimes do while doing these photo's.  Again, I would of started with a picture of clouds and these are some of the steps between instagram, filter mania and I believe another App called photo wonder.

This was first started in filter mania.  This is where I added the rocks and the mist and the lightning.

 I then added in the moon and the birds just for fun.  Sometimes I just gotta keep adding lol.

At this stage I went into photo wonder and used a their HDR filter.  I find it almost gives my pictures a sharp poster like effect.

And the final image ran through instagram.  I can't remember the filter I used.

Don't have the steps for the next two, but thought they were pretty and colorful :)

Now this was my first time playing around with WowFX.  Again some steps I went through to get the final look.  I would of again started off with a random sky picture I took.

The first few steps in filter mania was the grass and sun flare.  Then I headed over to my new App :)

Because I was testing this out for the first time I went a bit crazy.  I just really wanted to see what it did.  So added in the tornado and crack on the road.  Added some stars in the sky and color. 

Than ran my HDR filter through photo wonder.

And then finally through instagram.  I can seriously do this for hours lol.  It is so much fun!

Now, you don't always need a photo with a sky to start out with.  I just like having a blank slate sometimes to see what I can achieve in the end.  Like I said, I only do it for fun! 

The next set is a building in Ottawa I took years ago with a point and shoot lol.    Again, starting off in filter mania.

All I did was add in the lightning which gave me the road effect on the bottom. (that I didnt want).  So I headed over to WowFX to see what I could do.

All I did here in WowFX was added in the stars and moon.  And I believe I put on a colored filter too.

Then I went back over to filter mania and added in the tornado.

Then off to photo wonder and added in I think it was a snow effect and ran the HDR filter again :)

Then I went back over to wowfx and added in some pretty bokeh and ran through instagram.  I get a little into it sometimes. :)

 



Just another finished picture I believe that was started with a sky.  Love stormy pictures :)

And then one day browsing through the App store I found a Despecable Me sticker App.  Look what happens when I use my lovely Apps all together.  But there was a bit of a downfall to this picture in the end result.  But again, its only for fun and thought my daughter would get a kick out of it. (She's so in love with that movie right now lol).

The last one you can really see around the clouds that they were added in.  I was very disappointed with wowfx on that one.  But I still thought the picture was cool.  That HDR filter in photo wonder, see what I mean about how it turns the picture into a poster?  At least I think so ;)

Here is my last picture and my fun process lol.  Again, I used the sticker book all the way down to instagram!  How many Apps can you use in one photo lol.

And then the last few I just thought I would share because they are colorful and because I admit, I have a new found addiction LOL.
