Hanging in the field

One of the things that I love about summertime, is shooting outdoors!.  I do have a mini studio in my basement, but during the summer, I try to get most of my pictures outdoors.

The other night was such a nice night,  my mom had my son so I decided to take the little misses over to the field by our house to get some 'nice' shots.

I had a couple pictures in mind, so I grabbed my stuff and headed over.

I never ended up getting any of the shots I wanted lol.  She is definitely at that age where she thinks she runs the house!.  She really does not listen when it comes to asking her to 'sit'.  Especially when we are somewhere she is not used to being.

She loved it though.  The rocks is all she cared about.  I even brought a lollipop. YES!  that's right, I admit it.  But she didn't even care about the lollipop and ended up throwing it on the ground and breaking it and going back to her rocks lol.

See the rock in her hand?  She was so busy finding rocks, that it was almost impossible to get her to look my way lol.
Look, Rocks!
So there she is with the lollipop, but she's giving me the look like 'yeah right mom, not gonna happen!'.
And just when you think she's gonna play with it, she throws it to the ground and heads back to her rocks lol.
And it's in pieces now!.  Boring!
When I asked her if she wanted to sit with the lollipop after she threw it, I got this face.  Clearly she was not having any of that.
So off she went again to find some more rocks.  In the end she came home with not only a handful, but a few little ones hiding in her mouth too lol.  Yuck!
Rocks are sooooo cool Mom!

Stay tuned for my photo shoot with the Xman!  He actually allowed me to get pictures of him for once! (It really has been awhile).

Its been crazy busy, but crazy fun!

Okay, so this weekend was a bit of a crazy weekend.  For the third year in a row, one of my hubbies and I favorite things to do during the summer came back!  A full weekend of RIBS! mmm BBQ ribs and chicken....mmmmm.

Of course the kids never look forward to the food like we do.  Thank god they have a mini fair there to keep the kids happy while us adults stuff our faces with delicious foods!

Not only did we hit Ribfest both Friday and Saturday.  But before we headed over to Ribfest on Saturday we stopped over by our local skate park because there was I guess a skateboarding competition or something.  I don't know, I just know it was a great place to grab some great action shots!

Then on top of all of that, my hubby and I cleaned out the house.  I mean we literally cleaned out the place lol.

As crazy as our weekend was, it was also a bunch of fun!  Here's a few pictures from our exciting weekend :)  Hope you enjoy the picture overload :)

A fun game of hide and seek!

So my hubby is gone for the week (work again) and I thought I would try to cheer him up by sending him a few pictures of his little misses.

I have noticed lately that she has caught on to me and my camera and she is becoming a fun one to get!.  She even knows what to do no matter what lens I have on my camera.

If I have a telephoto lens on, she will be right in front of the camera so of course I cannot get a picture of her.  If I have a smaller stationary lens she runs lol.

I tried to get a couple of nice shots of her just sitting in the chair in the dinning room.  Next thing I knew, it turned into a game of hide and seek!

She ran, I found her and snapped away!  Hope you enjoy!
We started off nice and still, enough for me to get a couple shots, and then she was off!

I found you!
Off to hide again!
I have no idea what was with her and her tongue hanging out lol.  But I thought it added to the pictures.

Founders Fair

This weekend was our yearly Founders Fair.  It's a 2 day event where the close some of our main street down for games and activities and performers.

I wonder if this is what replaced our buskers festival that we used to have.  Regardless, this year was so much bigger than last.  There were a couple more rides, and what seemed to be tons more vendors.

Here's a few pictures from our adventures this weekend!

Some of the animals that were there.  There was also some camels, goats, lemurs and some sheep's.
The kids loved the lemurs.  They were having fun dancing together.
This was a shot I just had to take.  These two girls were watching a ride and they just looked so darn adorable in matching hats both carrying a balloon!

Then we caught a Fire show.  By the time that we realised what they were doing we got seats, but they were behind them.  So, I apologise that they are from behind.  But sometimes you can't always get the shot you want.
These people were really cool to watch.  They are called 'A Different Spin'

Due to the fact that I wasn't able to get good shots of these guys, we decided to head back the next day to see if we could catch them again.  They were there, but the second day they were doing different stuff.

So we went home and decided to see where they would be preforming next.  Thinking that maybe if they were close enough we would catch them again.

What did we find out.....These people are from the States.  We are in Canada.  We looked at their upcoming events and we were the only town in Canada that had them.  Interesting.  So, now we will have to wait until next year when they come back to get better shots.

Canada Day!

So, I was very shocked at the lack of things offered for Canada Day where we lived this year!  I don't know why, but this town was so quiet.

Maybe we were late and missed out on some of the activities, but wow.  Nothing till 6pm that night and even when we headed out to the festivities, I will still shocked to see barely anything there.

Luckily, there was one thing my son was able to do which was a rock climbing wall.  He was super excited.
Mine is the one in the red transformers shirt and black shorts.  The kid that looks the least amused lol.  I assure you, he was excited, but very nervous!  Hence the face.

At 9 years old, he has never done anything like this before.  It's a big jump for him and we were excited to see him try this. (He would NOT of done this even last year!)

As he got closer though, he started to get a bit more anxious.  But we kept assuring him he would be okay.

In the end, he did climb up the wall.  He didn't get all the way because he got 'stuck' at one point and couldn't see where he was supposed to put his foot.  So he bailed.

He wasn't upset, he just couldn't see how to get any further.  In the end, we were all happy.  Me and the hubby were happy that he wanted to rock climb and ended up doing it.  My son was happy because he realised it wasn't as scary as he thought lol!

Even though there really wasn't much to do the kids still had a blast.  My little one got her first taste of a real firework show and she was amazed at them!  She was clapping and shrieking lol.

So, for those of you who are celebrating July 4th tomorrow, we want to wish you a safe and happy day!  Hope your day is filled with more activities then our town did lol!
