Well, the summer is officially over now! My oldest is back in school (grade 5 already!). And it's just me and my little munchkin in the house again.
This summer seemed to fly by. It started off like any other typical summer. Nice and hot, just the way I like it. But I think it only lasted about 2 weeks before it felt like Fall. And that weather basically kicked around until the last week of summer.
Our family didn't do a lot of our normal traditions this summer. But we had a summer full of new and exciting things.
At the beginning of the summer, I finally was able to purchase a new camera! I was so overdue for an upgrade. And although I didn't get the camera I originally wanted (D4). I ended up with a great camera. (Nikon D600). What a huge difference between my old D90 and my new D600.
I also thought it was time to add a new lens to my collection. I was a bit torn between 2 lenses. The 35mm and 85mm. Since I already had the 50mm, I ended up going for the 85mm. Again, loving my new lens with my new camera!
But that's not the really exciting news! As you can tell from the title of my post, I am moving on to new and better things. That meant, it was time to get on a real website and time to say goodbye to blogger.
And this is why I have been so quiet. I have never made a website before (except for blogger). And so it was a big new learning curve for me. I still have a few more things to figure out before it will be online, but hopefully it won't take me too much longer!
My new site will be bigger and better, with lots of useful information and some secret stuff I have yet to reveal. So stay tuned for the release of my new site. And eventually some fun giveaways too;)
Until then, here are just a few random shots I have taken over the summer with my new camera and lens!
In the field in August dressed like we are ready for Fall!
This day was actually a really hot day. I brought the umbrella as a prop for my daughter for a photo shoot. Instead, big brother decided it was too hot and stole it on her! (she didn't care.)
It was so hot that day that sliding down the poor slide was hard. She stuck to it more than she slid down it lol.
But we did get some unusual weather with some really cool clouds!
Oh, and I will have one more post here, which will be my new link to my new site! Hope to see you all there :)
